Additional information

Additional Information

Work is titled RIBBON. Provenance: Gift from the artist | The Collection of Dr. Howard Grossman, West Palm Beach, Florida. Barton Lidice Benes is known for his provocative, symbolic mixed media assemblage made from materials such as paper currency, biological materials and celebrity ephemera, with significant pieces relating to the AIDS epidemic . In the introduction to "Curiosa: Celebrity Relics, Historical Fossils, & Other Metamorphic Rubbish," John Berendt discusses Benes' works of this nature.
