Additional Information: The floor lamp has one ballast and a 93″ long fluorescent tube. Reference (similar example): Vladimir Kagan Designs, Vladimir Kagan Designs Incorporated, pg. 74. Provenance: Collection of Susan Schleger, New York, New York. Mrs. Schleger and Vladimir Kagan had an enduring friendship. In the mid-late 1960s, she engaged him to decorate both her Central Park apartment and her Palm Beach penthouse. Her grandson recalls that she welcomed the designer as a houseguest in Palm Beach occasionally, something she did only for her closest friends and family. Several of the Kagan pieces offered in this auction were custom-made for the apartment, while the Schlegers’ art collection ranges from the 1960s to the 2000s.
