Additional Information: Jonathan Pylypchuk is a former founding member of the Royal Art Lodge cooperative, known for his sculptures of puppet-like creatures and used salvaged materials and folklore aesthetic. He has presented his art under the pseudonym Rudy Bust. A founding member of the influential Royal Art Lodge collective, Jon Pylypchuk is known for his emotionally raw sculptures and paintings featuring puppet-like figures crafted from scavenged materials, blending dark humor, vulnerability, and a folk-art sensibility. His work draws comparisons to Barry McGee, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Mike Kelley. His work has been shown internationally at galleries and museums including Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland, Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit, UCLA Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, ZKM Museum in Germany, Royal Academy in London, State Hermitage in St. Petersburg and the Musee d’Arte Contemporaine, Montreal.
