Monumental Cabinet Attributed to Pietro Lingeri
Artist/Designer: Pietro Lingeri (Italian, 1894 – 1968), attributed
Additional Information: Cabinet is from the Novecento Italiano period. Between each column are five (5) inwardly bowed, concave doors with a geometric pattern on each door front. The cabinet doors have no visible hardware; door pulls are carved into a curved recess on both sides of each door. Two outer doors open to reveal three (3) finely crafted sliding drawers, with recessed, carved circular knobs, and the remaining doors reveal storage. Provenance: Possibly from the Villa Leone designed by Pietro Lingeri (Austin Auction Gallery stated that the piece was from the estate of Giuseppe Terragni, Como, Italy) Austin Auction Gallery, 2.9.2013, Lot 307 Modern5961, West Palm Beach, FL.
